President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with nine governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), over the recently concluded party’s primaries.
The meeting which lasted for about two hours was held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after the disaffected governors sought audience with the president.
Those in attendance were the Governors of Imo, Rochas Okorocha; Oyo, Abiola Ajimobi; Zamfara, Abdul’aziz Yari, Ogun, Ibikunle Amosun, Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu, Plateau, Simon Lalong, Niger, Abubakar Sani Bello, Kebbi, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Chairman of the APC Governors Forum, Rochas Okorocha, said the various crisis in their state primaries was the subject of discussions, with a resolve to finding a lasting solution.
Declining to give specifics of the meeting, Okorocha noted that the governors are requesting for the right thing to be done alongside party principles of equity, justice and fairness.
