President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in London, United Kingdom after what the presidency termed a “technical stopover.”
This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in trying to explain why the president had not yet returned to Nigeria after his two-day visit to the United States.
Speaking on the matter with newsmen, Shehu, who was on Buhari’s delegation to US said, “They had a technical stopover in London. I am sure if you keep your ears to the ground, you will hear of his arrival soon.”
Shehu however did not give details of the “technical stopover” but insisted it’s nothing that cannot be contained.
Buhari has been to the English capital city in a number of occasions since he assumed office in 2015.
He was thee again last month for the Commonwealth heads of Government Meeting in Buckingham Palace, where he sparked controversy by describing Nigerian youths as loafers hoping for free oil money.
