There was pandemonium in the Senate Thursday after fire broke out in a technical room of the National Assembly.
The technical room is located in the basement of the national assembly where banks and a mosque are located.
It is not yet clear what caused the fire, though eyewitnesses say it could have been from an electric spark in the room as staff of the National Assembly try to put it out.
The complex is being evacuated as at the time of filing the report, and no one was hurt in the incident, TheCable writes.
Staff and business officials are moving to secured areas for their safety, while Senators who were initially seated in the chamber have vacated it.
Plenary has been adjourned to next week because of the incident.
