A coalition of civil society groups, #OurMumuDondo, has protested to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, demanding the release of detained Premiums Times reporter, Samuel Ogundipe.
The group, led by popular musician and activist, Charlie Boy, insisted on the release of the reporter, saying that they would not leave until he is freed, Punch writes.
They initially briefly barricaded the Shehu Shagari Way, causing a traffic gridlock and forcing motorists to ply alternative routes.
This comes after heavy criticism of the police for forcing the journalist to divulge his sources.
Earlier, presidential aspirant and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, berated the Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris, for pressurising Ogundipe to disclose his source.
