The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State took a new turn after the factional office led by Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi was on Tuesday demolished.
Punch reports that the one-storey building on 11B Sambo Road, was torn down amidst tight security in the wee hours of Tuesday.
This comes after the factional APC, ‘APC Akida’ and the ‘Restoration APC’ unveiled the office, saying that they had to stay away from the headquarters of the party along Ali Akilu road to avoid the activities of ‘thugs’.
Bare 24 hours after the office was unveiled, it was defaced with a red paint but the party officials moved on unperturbed as they used the facility on Sunday to announce the suspension of the state governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai for six months.
The suspension was however overturned on Monday by the party executives loyal to the governor, claiming that the Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi-led faction had no such powers.
Not long after his suspension was overturned, Governor El-Rufau labelled Hunkuyi an ‘impostor’, before having the factional office pulled down.
