The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, was absent as President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other presidential candidates sign a Peace Accord ahead of the 2019 general election.
Also, the National Chairman of PDP, Chief Uche Secondus, was not on ground at the venue.
Buhari signed the peace accord at 4.27pm alongside the national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Other key presidential candidates that were absent at the signing include Mr. Donald Duke – Social Democratic Party, (SDP), Mr. Omoyele Sowore – African Action Congress (AAC) and Mrs Obi Ezekwesili – Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN).
The peace accord was initiated by the National Peace Committee (NPC) led by a former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar to ensure peace before, during and after the polls.
