CP Fatai Owoseni has been removed as the Commissioner of Police in Benue State following over a year of unrest.
Owoseni was replaced by CP. Besan Dapiya Gwana, who already assumed duty at the Benue State Police Command in Makurdi.
This was disclosed by the command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP. Moses Joel Yamu, in a press release to members of the general public.
Yamu said the new commissioner until his posting to Benue State as Command CP, was the Commissioner of Police in charge of General Investigation (GI) at the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCIID) in Abuja.
The new police chief must set about resolving the raging crisis between armed herdsmen and rural communities in the north-central state.
