Days after she posted Mac Miller’s photo in the wake of his death, Ariana Grande has now broken silence.
Last night, the singer shared a video of Mac with a caption in which she apologised for not making Mac better, how she cared about him and wishes he has found peace. “I adored you from the day I met you when I was 19, and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore,” she begins.
She continues, “You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to.”
Ariana Grande and Mac Miller began dating in 2016 and broke up in May 2018, and shortly after the split, she revealed that the relationship was toxic. “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course),” she said at that time to people who criticised her engagement to Pete Davidson. “But shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem.”
Sadly, Mac Miller has passed away.
