Aretha Franklin has left the hospital.
According to People, this was confirmed by the singer’s nephew Tim Franklin, who said that she is surrounded by her loved ones and resting at home.
“She’s alert, laughing, teasing, able to recognize people,” Tim Franklin said of the 76-year-old star’s illness Monday. “Family is there with her. She’s home.”
He continued, “I saw her a week ago Friday and we talked for about 45 minutes to an hour. My brother was there on Saturday and she was alert, talking, laughing, joking. She’s watching TV, so god forbid she sees all of this ‘Aretha’s dead,’ so I don’t want to dampen her spirits on that.”
This comes after news surfaced that the Queen of Soul was gravelly ill and was surrounded by family and friends who were said to be “preparing for the worst.”
The stirred stirred worldwide reactions, with many fans and celebrities saying a prayer for her.
Now, she is back home and everyone is hoping that she recovers quickly.
