The All Progressives Congress National Convention in Abuja on Saturday affirmed former Governor of Edo State Adams Oshiohmole as its new National Chairman.
The convention, held at the Eagles Square Abuja, also affirmed the election of 19 other officers to the party’s new national executive committee.
Alhaji Ibrahim Masari was elected as the new National Welfare Officer, while Alhaji Tunde Bello will be the party’s new national Financial Secretary.
Daily Trust reports that more aspirants are currently stepping down from the race into various positions, a situation that will undoubtedly increase the number of winners that emerge unopposed.
Earlier, President Muhammadu Buhari appealed to aggrieved members of the ruling party to keep the faith, saying things would soon be put right.
The president also appealed to the delegates to shun personal interests and to accept the outcome of the convention in good faith in the interest of the party and the nation.
