Emmanuel Amunike has dragged the Tanzania Football Federation to a Fifa arbitration Committee over non-payment of his contractual agreement.
TFF and Amunike terminated the coach’s contract over failure to take the Taifa Stars into the knockout rounds of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
And Amunike has now decided to take legal action over TFF’s reluctance to pay his outstanding two months’ wages.
“I’ve contacted Fifa on the matter,” Amunike told CompleteSports from his base in Spain.
“It is not something we should be making noise about, but hopefully Fifa will look into and decide if it is proper for one not to be paid after work.”
Amunike became a cult hero when he qualified Tanzania for their first Afcon in 39 years. But his relationship with the country’s federation soured after they failed to win a single match at the tournament.
TFF has yet to release a statement on the matter as at the time of filing this report.
