Shawn Rene has responded to Runtown’s statement in which he accused her of blackmail.
In case you missed how this all started: Rene claimed the singer and his manager-brother diverted the $128, 000 she gave them to transfer to her fiance for a purchase in Kenya. The woman claimed she had tried to serve the singer and his brother papers, had complained to the EFCC, but nothing had been done.
She called on the Nigerian government to intervene and help her get her money back.
In his response, Runtown claimed Rene fell victim to impostors, that her accusation was “all lies and an attempt to blackmail and tarnish [Runtown’s] image.”
The statement, via the singer’s record label, said the company has “contacted the Nigerian security agencies including the DSS and EFCC who are all on the matter at the moment and preliminary investigations already reveals that its a group of impostors who may have duped ‘Shawn Rene’ using Runtown’s name.”
Well, the American woman insists the scam was orchestrated by Runtown and his brother because she has shared a video which shows the man purported to be Runtown’s brother with her cheque.
