Will Ferrell was rushed to a hospital on Thursday night following a crash in California.
According to Variety, the actor was one of three passengers in the chauffeur-driven SUV which was returning from a “Funny or Die” event in San Diego. Their vehicle was sideswiped by an oncoming Toyota, causing the SUV to hit the centre divider and flip over on the expressway at about 10:55 p.m. And from the footage obtained by the police, Ferrell was seen talking on a cell phone while being loaded into an ambulance.
Luckily the actor was not seriously injured. However, a 27-year-old woman, who was also in the SUV, was seriously injured. She reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt.
“The driver of the Toyota apparently had fallen asleep and struck the rear end of the (Lincoln) Navigator causing it to hit the center divider wall,” Officer Rafael Reynoso told the press.
The actor had yet to issue a statement regarding the accident as at press time.
