Spokesman for President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 presidential election campaign, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has described next year’s election as “a battle between forces of darkness and light.”
The senior lawyer stated that the polls would be “between the tin gods of Nigeria and the masses; between the forces of corruption and patriots.”
Taking to twitter on Thursday, the former rights activist said if the 2019 election were just a contest for power, people like him would not be actively involved in it.
See his tweet below.
The 2019 election is not just a contest for power. If it were to be so, some of us would not come out of our comfort zone to take on this task. It is a battle between forces of corruption & patriots; b/w the ‘tin gods’ of Nigeria & the masses; b/w the forces of darkness & light

Keyamo was on April 17 appointed as the Director, Strategic Communications for Buhari’s 2019 presidential campaigns.
By the appointment, he became the official spokesperson for Buhari’s campaign for the 2019 presidential poll.
He was also appointed, alongside six others, as board members of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Going by the prevailing commentary on Nigerian politics, Keyamo may be metaphorically right about the significance of the polls.
He may however be wrong about who the bad guys are…
