The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), which is the second highest decision-making organ of the party, is also meeting today to discuss critical issues relating to the campaigns.
Sources at the Wadata Plaza, say the NEC would discuss how the campaign would be funded and approve members of the campaign council before inauguration.
The NEC would also discuss and approve the date for the commencement of the campaign and schedule of state visits.
The NEC was scheduled to meet Tuesday, but the meeting was postponed because of the looming crisis in the South East over Mr. Peter Obi’s emergence as the party’s Vice Presidential candidate.
The party’s leaders in the South East were protesting Obi’s emergence on grounds that they were not consulted before he was chosen, and threatened to boycott the NEC meeting earlier slated for Tuesday.
