2019/20 Nigerian League Kicks off September 20

The 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season is scheduled to commence on Sunday, September 20, 2019.

According to Salihu Abubakar, chief operating officer of the League Management Company (LMC), the upcoming season will end on May 17, 2020 – including a break from December 30 to January 10.

LMC has also drawn out the calendar for the season that is to be played in a full format with a total of 20 teams, after last season’s abridged version which was won by Enyimba FC.

Abubakar however noted that the newly released NPFL time-table is subject to further ratification from the club owners association and the players union.

Enyimba clinched their eighth Nigeria Professional Football League title after defeating Akwa United 3-0 in the “Super Six” play offs fixture in Lagos.
