As the Fashion season in Nigeria draws to an end, it is visually interesting how our designers are keeping us entertained with their various fashion narratives. Today we have fast-rising menswear label, Josh Amor, releasing its fourth collection inspired by some of fashion’s biggest screen icons who have truly influenced and inspired the Man’s Closet
The Exhibition explores the pinnacle of menswear which is constructed on the Beauty, Essence, Power and the Art of suiting. Portrayed as one that is museum-worthy, the exhibition pays homage to fictitious characters From Mr Gatsby in The Great Gatsby, Captain von Trapp in Sound of Music, and James Bond.
While the art of creating a suit collection may be termed monotonous, we can’t ignore the eagle-eye attention that goes into crafting one, from fabric selection to execution. I must admit that Josh Amor has not only carefully mastered the essence of making great presentations that makes you pay more attention to his merchandise, but has also learnt to take care of business based on the logistics of the Man wardrobe needs. Save its impeccable take on craftsmanship, what I find fascinating about this collection is how it screams Commercial, I mean very commercial without loosing sight of its core inspiration.
