It was a tragic start to the morning on Friday as a luxury bus said to be traveling from the southeast crashed into the Majidun River around the Mile 2 area of Lagos.
While the cause of the accident remains yet unknown, emergency officials stated that four bodies were recovered from the scene of the accident.
Channels TV reports that officials of the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA), and Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), as well as other agencies were on ground to carry out rescue operations.
The luxury bus is believed to have made the long commute from the east Thursday night, a situation that could have resulted in fatigue on the part of the driver. Such night trips are however not uncommon with luxury buses travelling to and from different parts of the country.
